Canine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (CLAD) is a disorder of white blood cells and platelets that causes increased susceptibility to infections and bleeding tendencies. This variant of the disease, CLAD Type III, is caused by a recessive mutation in FERMT3, which causes malfunctioning of white blood cells and platelets. The variant is found in the German Shepherd.
Características clínicas
En los perros que sufren de Deficiencia de Adhesión de Leucocitos Caninos tipo III, las capacidades de curación se ven afectadas. Los perros afectados son muy vulnerables a las infecciones. Es probable que mueran temprano en la vida a causa de múltiples infecciones graves, incluso si se tratan con dosis masivas de antibióticos.
